It's an honour and a privilege to be able to bring you the latest offering from Brighton brothers Burnt Cross, and the Wheels Of Misfortune LP. Been a long time waiting for this one, seems to have taken years, not months, but it's finally here. Compiling their recent 7"s, compilation tracks and some unreleased material, housed in a 4 panel fold out Crass style sleeve with obi strip, this is essential stuff. Limited stock due to the number of worldwide labels involved so grab one quick while I've still got them!
Sitting here listening to this as I type and it's a corker. Chuffed to bring you the new Grand Collapse LP and it's even better than the first. Pressed on red vinyl with black swirl and full of hardcore loveliness. This is what the band have to say about the album. “We’ve spent the last three years touring the Far From The Callous Crowd record to death so at the beginning of 2016 we thought it about time we cracked on with making a new album. Writing and performing new songs was a breath of fresh air and we were excited to capture it in the studio. On reflection I think this album is more chaotic and aggressive than the first. It has a lot of energy, a ton of riffs and is unrelenting in pace. Topically I’ve covered the DSEI arms fair, our trial against the UKBA, the convenient death of Luciano Ponzetto & the harrowing nature of domestic abuse. The title track, Along the Dew, is a fictional short story about a fallen huntsman struggling through the wintry earth and being chewed by woodland creatures. Happy stuff like that. We’re really happy with this effort, which is saying something because we’re a bunch of pedantic bastards when it comes to this stuff.” In association with TNS Records and Ruin Nation Records. The latest release on Urinal Vinyl has landed! A collaboration with another 10 labels sees Active Minds put out a new slab of vinyl, 1 side anyway, the other side featuring Spanish d-beat legends Ultimo Gobierno. Lots of hardcore punk rock, liberal sprinkled with touches of melody to sweeten the deal, click below to go to the product page where you can get your copies! This is a big part of the reason I started a label, not just to release records by well known, established artists, but to put out records like this. Great tunes from a local (to me anyway!) band that really need a helping hand to get some vinyl out and get noticed. 4 tracks of rather excellent hardcore from these 5 lads, well worth checking out, either on this here slab of vinyl, or hopefully in a venue near you soon. Support these new up and coming bands, the life blood of the scene!
The latest release from Urinal Vinyl is the split single from Oi Polloi and Mantilla. No introduction needed for Oi Polloi, 3 alternate mixes here of Destroi Phallocentricity, Vos Vilen Di Anarkhisten and Neyn. On the flipside, Mantilla. hailing from various places including Denmark and Scotland. 3 angry women playing some fine melodic punk rock with a definite edge. 500 pressed, flying out so get in there for a first pressing! MANTILLA play raging melodic hardcore punk and hail from Glasgow, Scotland. They formed in late 2015 and released their first demo early 2016, gigging across Europe and also touring in Brazil. Their current line up includes members of hardcore heroes Thisclose, which should give you an idea to their ferocity. They are a political DIY band, and due to singer Kerieva being an active member of Rromani Resistance support Indigenous Women and land rights globally. They have teamed up with Oi Polloi on this split 7" , and are presently recording a new album which will be released later this year.
